WARM-UP/REVIEW (5 minutes)
Aim: To motivate students and help students to review the previous words.
*Game: “Think the words from the
letters”
- Write the word CLASSROOM in
large letters across the top of the
board.
- Ask students to shout out English
words that begin with each letter and
write them vertically down the
board, e.g. C could be cat, L could be
lion, A could be apple, etc.
- When the teacher has thought of a
word for each letter, ask the students
to repeat the activity in small groups.
The teacher can use a different word,
for example ENGLISH, and see if
the students can think of a word for
every letter.
- Praise students if they have done
well.
Expected outcomes and assessment
- Task completed with excellence:
Students can say the words nicely.
- Task completed: Students can say
the words.
- Task uncompleted: Students are
unable to say the words.
- Look at the word CLASSROOM.
- Shout out English words that begin

PRESENTATION (10 minutes)
Aim: To help students identify common school things and pronounce the words correctly.
*Lead-in: Use Flashcards 126-129 to
present the vocabulary.
- Use flashcards to present the
vocabulary. Hold up each flashcard
and say the word for students to
repeat. Ask students to point to real
objects in the classroom if possible.
- Hold the flashcards up in a different
order and repeat.
- Remark on students’ pronunciation.
